Buchholz (off the DL) Update No. 7

Here's a quasi-update because Buchholz has re-joined us directly in-between Lester starts. I'll update here, and then keep on Buchholz' schedule. If people are interested (let me know), I can keep updating Lester starts as they happen.

CLAY BUCHHOLZ | SP | B:L T:R | 21 YO | MID-A GVL.

__________ERA______SO______BB______H______IP______HR
2006_____0.96______22_______4_____16_____18.2______1

Buchholz, in his first start off the DL (4/18), faced the Single A affiliate for Atlanta, the Rome Braves, in Greenville. Here's his line:

3.2 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, BB, 7 K (~60 pitches)

OUT DISTRIBUTION
GB: 1
FB: 2
SO: 7

There's not a lot of sense in dissecting his GB/ FB ratio when he went 3.2 IP and struck out 7. That's just plain dominating. Great to see coming off the DL- no rust. It was a very short outing, but since he's just off an injury, and apparently all the sub-AA pitchers are on a 60 pitch count limit this month, nothing to be worried about there.

Here's the game story from The Greenville Online. Nothing too revelatory- the Drive did end up losing the game late.

Clay's next start lines up to be May 15th in Lexington against the Legends, the Houston Astros Sally League affiliate. The Legends have a white-hot Ole Sheldon leading the team with a 1.134 OPS, followed by C Justin Towles and 2B Eric King.

I've been meaning to mention this, but I would LOVE to hear back reports from people who see ANY minor league games on specific players, etc. This, of course, is especially true if it involves a Red Sox affiliate. Pictures- anything- you name it, I'll post it.

Anybody catch the game last night? I heard it was pretty good...
