Greg Maddux wins Number 299...

Well, crank it up- the 300th Win Watch is on for Greg Maddux, who after a victory today over the Milwaukee Brewers and MLB ERA leader Ben Sheets, is but one win away. There is little to argue that Greg Maddux is one of the great right handed pithers of all time. In fact, his '92-'95 seasons (in which he won the NL Cy Young each year) were four of the greatest series in any pitcher's career, highlighted by 1994, in which Maddux went 16-6 with a 1.56 ERA, a 273 ERA+.

I've always been an enormous Maddux fan, and so the sooner he gets 300, the better for the sure fire, first-ballot Hall of Famer. To see this man "on" is to see remarkable and beautiful pitching.
